P.E.T.G. is a transparent sheet in thermoplastic copolyester. This product offers excellent optical, transparency and brilliant qualities. P.E.T.G. sheets have excellent shock proof qualities, even at low temperatures, and are suitable for products which come into contact with food. In addition to P.E.T.G. sheets’ good thermoforming characteristics, they also ensure minimum energy consumption, brief production times, excellent forming ratios and good printing reproducibility without drying. These sheets can easily be screen printed and processed.
Applications
All the types of displays, price tags holders, dispensers, dividers for shelves, protection for media and other advertising items. Flat screens or thermoformed screens for machinery, covers, coverings, containers as well as food containers and pharmaceutical use.
Shock Proof
P.E.T.G. sheets, which are some of the strongest transparent materials, offer excellent shock proof qualities, even at temperatures below zero. These sheets are superior in quality to other transparent materials, such as polymethylmetacrylate and polystyrene sheets. In addition to common working processes, such as saw cutting, punching and milling, the product’s characteristics also allow for punching, blanking, cutting, cold bending, mechanical coupling, riveting, etc.,. Increased shock proof qualities also ensure minimum breakage during the transport of finished items. P.E.T.G. sheets satisfy the characteristics required by standard DIN 52 290, class A3 (maximum class) for materials used in protective barriers, and are therefore able to support a steel sphere weighing 4.11 kg. dropped onto the same sheet three times from a height of 9.3 m. without any resulting damage.
Thermoforming
P.E.T.G. sheets have exceptional thermoforming characteristics. Thanks to extraordinary sliding and detail reproduction, it is possible to use thermoforming to process the P.E.T.G. sheets at especially low temperatures without drying. In addition to reduced thermal capacity, P.E.T.G. sheets require minimum energy for thermoforming processes. P.E.T.G. sheets often allow the usual thickness used for sheets in other thermoplastic materials to be reduced.
Light Transmission
P.E.T.G. sheets offer increased optical and brilliant characteristics. While UV radiation is almost completely absorbed, light transmission in the transparent P.E.T.G. sheets reaches nearly 90% in the visible radiation field (for a 1 mm sheet), which reduce the need to increase its thickness.
